‘Feel The Spirit’ dates from 1976 (the same year as his Hutson II album) and finds Leroy Hutson on top form. The funky ‘It’s The Music’ is a dancefloor winner, the classic ‘Lover’s Holiday’ is a lush stepper that has all the best Hutson elements in full effect, the gentle ‘Don’t Let It Get Next To You’ is a soulful delight while the punchy ‘Butterfat’ has mid 70s Kool & The Gang touches. Hutson managed to create a unique atmosphere throughout the album and the mix of close quarters intimacy and expansive depth gives ‘Let’s Be Lonely Together’ an engaging feel. ‘Never Know What You Can Do….’ is another funky edged slab of 70s soul. Great album.
